The Omnidar is the most advance mobile “radar” on earth. This revolutionary product is now made available by using all the electronic sensors capacity of modern smartphone included in the Android and iPhone 3Gs. It’s the first application that let you find common object using the subtle variation of the objects in the magnetic field around you.

By using the magnetic “DNA” of common objects we can track any object in a 20 meters range. By example, you start the Omnidar and put it in LEARN mode. Then you put your remote control near the phone. Our application learn the magnetic signature of your Tv remote control. The next time you lose your remote you start Omnidar and follow the signal to find where the remote is. You can do the same thing with your keys, wallet, car, etc.

1: Find a target

The first step is to stay alert in your day to day activities to find
good opportunities to use the Omnidar. Lets use a example: You are
with friends and someone just made something really stupid. You all
know it’s really dumb and you need to make a joke to release the
pressure. Here is a good opportunity to use the omnidar. Launch the
application and tell your friend that you have a
“dumb-o-dar” that can detect dumb people. If you need more inspirational
example we will provide you a list at the end of this manual.

Step 2: Select the theme

They are a couple of themes available, you just need to pick the one that
is the most suited for the situation. For our previous example the
Omnidar 2000 or the Gauge radar is a good pick for this situation.

Arm with this fully customizable labelled “radar” you can practically detect anything you want. The style is inspired by the K2000 dashboard from the Knight rider and will really give the impression of playing with one of the KITT’s ballz.

You can select on of the pre-setted labels or type in custom text (android version only). The fake values moving around really add to the realism *cough* cough* and will probably fool your boss into thinking your phone is juste about to read in minds…

The geiger counter

If you want to freak out radiation paranoid here is the toy for you. Also included in the Omnidar package, the geiger counter is cleary a master piece of it’s own. Using real geiger sound the more you approach the phone in the azimut the more the creepy click will occur.

The only thing you need is a mask and a white suit, you are now ready to freak out a entire office (if you do please send us the youtube video link!).

The android version received a little bit more love, and use a statistical probability to handle needle movement like the real deal.

One last notice be sure to slide your fingers on the switch and not just press them. They are switch not buttons !

The gauge is for heavy duty work

The gauge

When you need a industrial grade detector the gauge is fit for the job. Using only heavy duty pixels for the image, the gauge will clearly resist the shock of any irritated victims. (maybe not your phone)

On the iPhone 3Gs version you can set a custom label.

Initially constructed has a troll detector, we exploded our first prototype by surfing 4chan.org and fark.com. We now adjusted the sensibility in order to avoid any futur explosion. It’s now a totaly safe product to use.

Step 3: Set the target azimuth

The next step is to subtly set the target azimuth of the “source”
in our example the dumb person. To do so simply simply push the right
button or switch (depending of the theme selected). This will set the
source of the radar. To unset simply re-use the right button.

Note that if the target is moving your joke is screwed since you will need
to update the azimuth source.

Step 4: Start the radar

Now let’s go for a magic Omnidar moment. You start the omnidar the more
you will point to the source the more it will blip to indicate the
signal is strong. You will get better illusion if you start the
omnidar not pointing the source when you start the omnidar. You can
play around the signal should only be strong when you point the the
source.

And voila, if you acted well everyone will be subjugated by your little
act and offer to worship you until the end of time*

iPhone 3Gs vs Android OS version

There is small difference between the iphone 3Gs version and android. The
first one is the way you navigate between the theme. In the iPhone
version you need to touch the little “i” (see picture below)

(i) bring you back to the menu (not me the (i) button, ok?)

In the android version you need to push the “back” key to
exit the theme. And you can access the radar option (available only
for some theme) You need to push the “menu” key.

Inspirational ideas

Here are a few ideas for the omnidar usage:

At work

* make believe co-worker that my phone can detect bugs stored in computer with the Bug-O-dar

* make believe co-worker that I can know who is a liar in the room

* make believe I can detect radiation source in the room using the geiger counter. It appears my screen was way too much radioactive and the change for a lcd screen was really a necessity (it was anyway)

* make believe I could detect brainwave and set intensity to mentally challenged… It appears that one of the boss was emitting a really strong signal

At the pub/bar

* make believe the phone using DNA magnetic vibration I could detect the most perfect girl in the room. Obviously it was also the cutest (might not be the highest IQ) girl in the bar.

* make believe I could detect radiation source in a beer… Looks like this one is radioactive , for 5$ ill drink it for you.

* make believe I could detect latent gayness in a person, using it against the guy who was dragging the “perfect girl” (not responsible of injuries)

At home

* Make believe your child that your phone is a 7′o’clock monster that eat awake child detector and get them to sleep asap since you can detect his presence (ok it
might traumatise them watch out)

* Indicate to your wife who detain the truth in a argument… (hmmm maybe not the best idea)

* Indicate to your land lord that the appartement is clearly radioactive but for a 50% rent reduction you will shut up and live there and tell no one
Etc…
